A Fond Farewell

It’s a shame, but several restaurants we visited for the blog in 2011 are now closed. I’d like to bid them adieu with this post.

Greek Village – The Russell Parkway location closed, but you can still get a few favorites at Greek Village II on Commercial Circle in Warner Robins. I recommend the Greek burger!

China Palace – As a Warner Robins native, the loss of this restaurant leaves a hole yet to be filled. Yes, we do enjoy a couple other Chinese restaurants, but none have the same flavor and atmosphere. The staff at China Palace treated us like family and we sorely miss them.

Martin’s BBQ – Technically, Martin’s is still operating in their Front Street location, but I just haven’t been able to make it over there. We visited them at their Hwy 96 location which shut down only a couple days after we dined there. I wish it was still open at that location as that’s more convenient for us.

Shahenshah – Word on the street is that the folks at Shahenshah moved into the space vacated by Martin’s on Hwy 96, opening as Metropolis Grill. But, the variety of dishes we loved at Shahenshah is lacking at Metropolis.

Catfish House – This location just seems to be a dead zone for restaurants. Nothing seems to last for long. The food wasn’t too bad, but I guess it’s going to sit empty for another spell before another restaurant takes a gamble.
