In last weeks review, I mentioned one of the reasons we hadn’t been keeping up to date was because we traveled to New York to visit my parents. Normally, we take time to visit once a year during the holidays to catch up with family. New York is known for being notoriously cold and snowy during the end of the year, so we switched it up and took a summer trip and stayed with my parents and their friends in an RV near Seneca Lake, one of the Finger Lakes in upstate NY. It is here where we found ourselves going to dinner at the eponymous Seneca Lodge, an old hunting lodge transformed into a beautiful restaurant and bar.
After perusing the menu a minute, both Hillarie and I decided on ordering the exact same thing (which, if you haven’t taken notice, is a rarity): the Prime Rib. All their dinners come with a complementary salad bar, so we helped ourselves to a small salad and bread after we placed our orders. No pictures of the salads, but we did grab a shot of the delicious corn muffins.
Honestly, there isn’t too much to say about Prime Rib. If you’ve had it, you know what I’m talking about. If you haven’t had, go somewhere and get some. A couple things about the dinner however. First, they didn’t serve it with a side of au jus. It is the restaurant’s preference to serve it or not, but the meat was juicy enough. Secondly, the broccoli wasn’t soft. It had been cooked, just not long enough. I love steamed broccoli, but it has to be soft.
I’ll keep this review short. We didn’t get dessert there, but we had plenty of sweets throughout the entire weekend.
